Hello, my name is Johansen Sagala. I am a passionate software engineer deeply immersed in the IT world, covering areas such as application development, design, DevOps, cloud computing, data management, and artificial intelligence.

My Education

I graduated from Universitas Advent Indonesia, a private university located in Bandung, where I majored in Informatics Engineering. Interestingly, I didn’t have a strong reason for choosing this major, nor did I have any prior knowledge of computer science. The only reason I pursued it was that it was the only engineering-related major available at my university.
During my studies, I wasn’t an active member of campus organizations. My reason was simple: I wanted to dedicate more time to honing my skills in this field. However, I actively participated in a student organization run by HIMA (Himpunan Mahasiswa), which focused on IT-related discussions and knowledge sharing. This allowed me to gain insights and stay connected to the world of information technology.
I was also the type of student who approached every course with commitment, without being selective about which subjects to prioritize. I made an effort to attend all classes, build good friendships with my peers, communicate effectively, and help each other succeed.

How do I get into the world of IT?

The world of information technology was entirely new to me when I first started college. As I mentioned earlier, my choice of this major was initially due to its engineering label. Over time, however, I grew to enjoy this field. Coding began to feel like playing a game where you’re challenged to solve specific problems and translate solutions into functional code that can serve a variety of purposes. Interestingly, much of what I learned during high school turned out to be relevant to this field.
As I delved deeper, I realized how vast the IT field is, and I became eager to explore its various domains out of sheer curiosity. Many people say this is normal for someone young and full of enthusiasm, but for me, this passion isn’t just temporary. I genuinely enjoy exploring and expanding my skills in this ever-evolving field.

My Experience

As a developer, I have worked for several companies. In each role, I focused on improving my programming skills, fostering good relationships with colleagues, and building a strong sense of teamwork. These experiences have allowed me to learn about diverse technologies, interact with seasoned professionals, and exchange valuable ideas.
Currently, I am focused on growing as a software engineer while continuously enhancing my abilities. I am also actively offering freelance application development services through the Sribulancer platform. If you’re interested, you can view my Sribulancer profile.

Life is truly unpredictable, isn’t it? Many unique experiences in my life have often left me pondering. I’ve turned some of these personal stories into articles, which you can find on the blog section of this site. Feel free to explore a few of them below.
